Lady Captain 2017

Welcome to the Ladies section of Weston-super-Mare Golf Club. We have over 70 ladies of all abilities and ages so, whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced player, you will fit in somewhere!

We are very fortunate that our beautiful links course remains in excellent condition all year round, due to our active management team. Our golfers can play a full year of weekly competitions, which are usually followed by a friendly tea time chat.

Our resident Head Professional Ben Lock runs a teaching academy and he holds weekly lessons to help all abilities progress.

We are proud to have strong links with the Somerset County Ladies Golf Association and the Bristol and District Ladies Golf Alliance and our ladies enjoy playing in their annual competitions and interclub knockout matches.

Finally 2017 is our 125^th anniversary celebration year and we have many exciting and special events organised so it would be an ideal time to come and join us and be part of our tradition and fun.

Seniors Captain 2017

A warm Seniors’ welcome to all plus 55s. Come and enjoy this great section and experience friendly but competitive golf.

The Seniors Section runs many competitions mostly on Mondays.  There are many away Opens and 38 inter-club matches played from March to October. These are booked on line with a monthly review.

Weston-super-Mare Golf Club celebrates its 125th year in 2017 and we encourage more members to play throughout 2017 for the Seniors, with a special celebratory day June 19^th.  Invitations have been sent to clubs with current and previous fixtures to join us on the day.

With over 140 members and an ageing golfing population we are always seeking to recruit more.  For a small charge you will be able to join in the fun. But be warned the golf is very competitive. We have handicaps from 5 upwards; the challenges are many; and a good standard is played. So if you think it would be a walk over think again!

On a more personal note. I am very proud to represent Weston-super-Mare Golf Club as their Seniors Captain in 2017.  In life one does not receive many opportune moments, but I can say with hand on heart that this will be the highlight of my golfing world.

An effective Seniors’ committee supports all and continues to provide innovation and excellence in their role as providers, allowing all to enjoy the season free of encumbrances. Those below can be contacted at any time.
